Extremely ornate and beautiful, Victorian era 12k gold cross pendant. Cross features a very intricate hand wired design that combines hand made gold flowers, lustrous baroque pearls, and delicate filigree. The pendant is a quite large, measuring just shy of 2.75"Long by just over 1.5"Wide. At its top, the pendant boast a very large bail that could easily accommodate a strand of pearls, beads or large chain measuring as much as 7mm in diameter. Based on the design, it is presumed to be Spanish in origin and of the Victorian era - though we can not say for sure as the provenance is unknown, and that piece is not hallmarked. That said, the piece was professionally tested (Acid tested and X-Rayed) and it does test positive as solid 12k gold. As far as the condition, overall the pendant is in extraordinary condition given its delicate nature and estimated age; however, it does appear that the center pearl was rewired at some point. The wire used in the repair does not appear to be gold, like the others, but the difference is only noticeable upon very close inspection. Truly a rare, and special treasure from the past - sure to make a cherished addition to even the finest collection!
