A Guide For Everyone Who's Knot Quite Sure.

Love the scarf trend but just can't seem to pull it off? Whether you're tangled up in silk shawl, cotton wrap, soft pashmina, or bulky knit - we've got some basic tips that will help you wrap your neck in perfection!

How to Tie Square Scarves:

Bandana Fold your scarf in half on a diagonal so that it forms a triangle. With the long edge facing up wrap the scarf around your neck and tie the two farthest corners together, so that the scarf hangs loosely around your neck. Rotate the knot to the back or side (depending on your preference) and adjust the drape to finish off the look.
Choker Lay your scarf out flat on a diagonal. Fold the top and bottom points into the center so that they meet. From the edges that have formed roll the top and bottom up towards the center until they meet, and then overlap. Your scarf should now form a long thin strip. Wrap the scarf around your neck and tie with a double knot to secure. Rotate the knot to the side, back, or front (depending on your preference).
Bow Tie This style works best with a large square scarf. Lay your scarf out flat on a diagonal. Fold the top and bottom points into the center so that they meet. From the edges that have formed roll the top and bottom up towards the center until they meet, and then overlap. Your scarf should now form a long thin strip. Wrap the scarf around your neck and tie a bow (as you would your shoelaces) in the front. Fluff the bow and voila, you have a feminine take on the classic bow tie.

How to Tie Long Scarves:

Twisted Twist your scarf up until it forms a licorice like coil. Loop the scarf around your neck once or twice and tie a knot. With this style you have the option of concealing the ends or letting them hang loosely. If you opt to let them hang make sure the ends vary in length.
Looped Form a large "O" by tying the corners of a long scarf together. Slip the scarf over head positioning the knots at the back of your neck. Loop the remaining length around head as many times as desired, adjusting the loops so that they hang at different levels.
Long No tying required! Pick a long gorgeous scarf and let it hang down from your neck, or toss it over your shoulder. Opt for wide scarves that drape beautifully, and stick to lengths that hit above the knee.

How to Tie Winter Scarves:

Slip Knot Fold your scarf in half and wrap it around the back of your neck. Thread the ends through the center loop and position in the front. Leave the ends hanging loosely, or tuck them inside you coat for extra warmth. Note: This style can be easily tightened around your neck and works really well to help block out the cold.
Basic Knot Wrap your scarf around your neck one or two times (depending on it's length) and tie a basic knot in the front allowing the ends to hang at varying lengths. This style will work well with medium weight winter scarves, but not so well with bulkier knits.
Front Wrap Find the center of your scarf and position it in front of your neck. Wrap the ends around your neck, bringing them back around to the front. Let the ends hand loosely, or knot them, and adjust the loop around your neck so that it hangs comfortably.
